James J. Pallotta, Chairman and Managing Director, Raptor Capital Management LP

James J. Pallotta is the chairman and managing director of Raptor Capital Management LP, a Boston-based equity long/short hedge fund that he founded in 2009. From 1993 to 2008, he was employed by Tudor Investment Corporation, a leading alternative-asset management organization based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Pallotta joined Tudor as managing director of the U.S. Equity Securities Group in 1993 and became a member of the management committee in 1996 and vice chairman in 2005. He also served as executive manager of Tudor Group Holdings and director of Tudor. Prior to Tudor, Pallotta was a principal portfolio manager at Essex Investment Management Company, Inc. in Boston. He joined Essex in 1983 as a vice president and began directing client capital in January 1987. In 1989, Pallotta became a senior vice president and director of research, and he was appointed to the board of directors of Essex in 1990. Pallotta has more than 27 years of experience in equity research and analysis, including 22 years directing client capital. He is a member of the executive board of the Boston Celtics and a member of the boards of certain charitable organizations. Pallotta received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Massachusetts (1979) and an M.B.A. with a concentration in accounting from Northeastern University (1981).
