Bill Kaiser, Partner, Greylock Partners

Bill Kaiser is a partner at Greylock Partners, a leading venture capital firm, with offices in Menlo Park, California, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. He looks to inviest in enterprise and consumer information technology companies at all stages, working closely with entrepreneurs to help grow and build their companies as their partner. He joined Greylock Partners in 1986 after a seven-year career in sales and marketing with Hewlett Packard and Apollo Computer. He is a graduate of MIT with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science, and he has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Kaiser is currently on the boards of Constant Contact (NASDAQ: CTCT), Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), Typesafe, and Wild Tangent.
He previously served on the boards of Alias Research (acquired by SGI), Avid Technology, CheckFree, Clarus, Course Technology (acquired by Thomson), Gateway Design Automation (acquired by Cadence), Lumigent, Mainspring Communications (acquired by IBM), MapInfo, Open Market (acquired by divine), Raptor Systems (acquired by Axent, now part of Symantec), Reflectent (acquired by Citrix), SightPath (acquired by Cisco), Spyglass (acquired by Open TV), Student Advantage, and Tenth Planet (now part of Mattel). Additionally, he is a trustee of Wellesley College, and at MIT, he is on the Visiting Committee of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, the Deshpande Center Board, and the Open Courseware Advisory Board.
