Allan D. Reese
Original Appointment: October 1988 - March 2000 Current Appointment: March 2001
Al Reese is a senior-level financial executive with over 30 years experience in consumer and commercial lending, mortgage banking, and complex financial and accounting issues. He currently serves as head of corporate operations for Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, a role that encompasses servicing, asset management, and loan workout. Reese's previous professional engagements include seven years with BankBoston in the Finance and Consumer Lending divisions; 14 years with Coopers & Lybrand, the last three of which were as a partner in the Boston office; and two years at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, where he developed the initial accounting standards for mortgage and credit card securitizations.
Reese currently serves as chairman of the Trustees Audit and Finance committees and is a member of the
Trustees' Executive Committee. He was also a member of Berklee's Presidential Search Committee in 2003.
In March 2000, in honor of Reese's initial 12 years of service, trustees generously contributed an endowed
fund to be used as he saw fit. The result is the Al Reese Endowed Fund, which supports the Esterhazy String
Quartet residency at Berklee. This fund provides Berklee composition students with an opportunity to have
their music played by a nationally renowned string quartet.
Reese keeps his hand in the music business by playing bass in a rock 'n' roll cover band and hoping for the mythical "discovery" call. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He lives in Canton, Massachusetts, is married to Cam Reese, and has four children: Matthew, Molly, Michael, and Jason.
