Bill Holodnak is founder and president of J. Robert Scott, a retainer-based executive search firm and wholly
owned subsidiary of Fidelity Investments. In addition to managing the firm since its inception in 1986,
Holodnak conducts senior-level search assignments in a variety of industries, including education,
biotechnology, medical devices, financial services, and software. His practice emphasizes assignments for
chief executive officers and members of the board of directors.
Holodnak is formerly a vice president of a retainer-based executive search firm that serviced the venture
capital and high-technology industries on a national basis.
He has been chair of the Trustees Committee on Membership (T-COM) since fall 2002, and was a
member of the Presidential Search Committee, 2003. He has taught at both Johns Hopkins University and
Boston University and is a former member of the professional audit staff of the Boston office of
PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Holodnak serves on the board of advisors for the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology
(HST) and holds a CPA certificate in Massachusetts. He is a former manager of the Brattle Theatre in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as a former member of Berklee's board of visitors. He facilitated a major
gift from the Fidelity Foundation for a new Steinway grand piano for the Berklee Performance Center.
Holodnak holds an M.B.A. from Boston University, an M.A. in medieval history from Johns Hopkins
University, and a B.A. from Canisius College in New York. He is married to Marjorie E. Holodnak and has two
children, Lili Holodnak and John Holodnak.
