The Music Business/Management Department at Berklee College of Music presents a two-day workshop that focuses on music business for bands and artists, with particular emphasis on the recording and live music industries, new marketing strategies, and music entrepreneurship. A series of seminars and workshops will cover the business, legal, and technological issues affecting record companies, music publishing, talent management, and concert promotion, and the changes brought by the move to digital. The workshop will also cover how to create an interactive website and promote your band with it, and the emerging DIY (do-it-yourself) business models.

Who are the instructors?
Seminars and workshops will be conducted by Berklee's experienced and knowledgeable Music Business/Management faculty members and visiting industry professionals.

Panel Discussion
The Evolving Music Industry: A panel of industry professionals will discuss the important changes taking place in the music industry and their effect on artists and business environments. As the business adapts to digital, DIY, 360 deals, and the like, the changes provide new opportunities.

The program will conclude with the Closing Plenary Session Summary and Conclusions, where students will have a final question-and-answer session with the faculty. This session is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. and should conclude by 5:30 p.m. Program content subject to change.

Where will I eat and sleep?
Applicants will be sent information and an application for residence hall housing once accepted to the program. Most program participants elect to stay in the Berklee residence halls; however, space is limited. To optimize your chances for on-campus housing, you must return the housing application immediately upon receiving it.

To be eligible to live in the residence hall, you must be 15 years of age by the start of the program. If you apply to the program after mid-May, please call the Housing Office at 617 747-2292 to find out if residence hall space is still available.
