Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is a primary source of information and help with academic, career, and personal issues as well as special services and international student services.

Academic Advising
Our counselors are trained to assist you with fulfilling your requirements for the degree or diploma program and your chosen major or dual major, and can help you to plan your educational program at Berklee in order to achieve your personal goals. Talk to them about choosing and declaring your major, preregistration and registration, schedule adjustments, graduation requirements, questions regarding your academic standing or probation, and decisions to withdraw or take a leave of absence from the college.

Career Couseling
Through its Career Development Center, the Counseling Center provides a range of services to help you plan your career. Couselors can assist you in identifying and assessing your skills, values, needs and feelings related to career and life planning. Developing options and exploring the best educational resources with one of the couselors can help you meet your career goals.

Personal Counseling
We're eager to see you grow and thrive at Berklee. So feel free to consult one of our professionally trained counselors in confidence about any concerns you may have affecting your performance, growth or well-being while at the college. Our counselors provide the support and advice you need no matter the issues which concern you. From support, assistance with personal decisions, relationships or family issues, help combating stress, anxiety, or lack of confidence, to deeper issues of depression or lack of motivation, loneliness, and eating behavior and health concerns, you will receive personalized, caring attention.

Special Services
If you've got a physical or learning disability, you may wish to receive some additional assistance to ensure the maximum benefit from your Berklee education. Our special services counselor can help you to document particular learning styles; obtain testing or medical referrals if necessary; arrange for reasonable classroom and/or testing accommodations based on the nature of your particular needs; plan a workable academic schedule; and assist with organizational and study skills.

International Student Services
We realize that studying abroad involves a great deal of preparation and paperwork. Our international student counselor can assist you with the issuance of new and revalidated I-20s; information about travel documents such as visas, I-94 cards and passports; personal and cultural adjustments to Berklee and the United States; academic adjustments and career advising; workshops on work-permission, practical training, postgraduation visa options and other special immigration topics; and, referrals to consulates, immigration lawyers and local international organizations.
