| Student Profiles
For a place where everyone comes to study essentially the same subject, Berklee is remarkably diverse. Students come from all over the United States and 75 other countries. They come carrying a variety of instruments and with passions for every known musical genre on the planet. Once they get here, they direct their interests and energy toward a broad range of fields, from jazz composition to music therapy.
So let's not even examine the question of who the typical Berklee student is. There is no such person. Some students were playing instruments as toddlers, some came to music later in life. Some want to make records, some want to sell them. And while there are commonalities among students, you will find when you talk to them that each has taken a completely unique path to Berklee and each seems to have their own way of working through Berklee. There are 3,800 students here and at least as many stories, each compelling in its own way.
We start telling those stories here, in the Student Profiles section of the website. Follow the links on this page to start learning about the music students of today. We'll be adding new profiles frequently, so return often to see who tomorrow brings to Berklee.
