About BT
Initially known as a pioneer of trance music, BT has established himself as one of the most complete and multitalented producers in the music industry. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Brian Transeau started playing piano at the age of two. His classical training began when he was thirteen and continued with an education at Berklee College of Music. An acclaimed and successful film composer, BT has scored several high profile films such as Monster, The Fast and The Furious, Under Suspicion, Go, and Driven. He has also produced artists such as NSYNC ("Pop") and Britney Spears ("I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman"); remixing Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Korn, and Seal; and working with Sting and Peter Gabriel. In 2003, he released his fourth CD, Emotional Technology (Nettwerk) which included the radio hit, "Simply Being Loved (Somnambulist)."

Artists-in-Residence
Each year, the college hosts an artist-in-residence to lecture in one of the academic departments for a semester, providing students an in-depth experience with a leader in his or her field. This year the Music Technology Division has hosted Nathaniel Kunkel, George Massenburg, BT, and will be welcoming electronic musician and film composer Gary Chang later this semester. Past artists-in-residence include Karl Bruhn, Tom Coster, Joanne Brackeen, Jeff Bova, Bob Brookmeyer, Michael Gibbs, Kenny Werner, Eddie Kramer, and Steve Khan.
