BOSTON, Oct. 22, 2001 -- Bill Holodnak, founder and president of the J. Robert Scott executive search firm, has been appointed to the Berklee College of Music Board of Trustees. The appointment was recently announced by Allan T. McLean, vice president of Lynch Associates/TBG Financial, and board chair of Berklee.

Berklee President Lee Eliot Berk welcomed Holodnak to the Berklee community, commenting "Bill Holodnak brings to the Berklee community a level of professional achievement and a lifelong love of jazz that will be a perfect fit for our board. We are so pleased that Bill will be a Berklee trustee."

As president of J. Robert Scott, a retainer-based executive search firm and subsidiary of Fidelity Investments, Holodnak has conducted senior level search assignments in a variety of fields, in addition to managing the firm since it's 1986 inception. Prior to his work with J. Robert Scott, Mr. Holodnak worked in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Boston office, as well as successfully managing the Brattle Theatre, in Cambridge MA.

Bill Holodnak holds an MBA from Boston University (1976), a graduate degree in Medieval History from The Johns Hopkins University (1971), and an undergraduate degree from Canisius College in New York (1968). He has taught at both Johns Hopkins and Boston University. He is married with two children.

"Jazz has been a very important part of my life for over forty years," said Holodnak. "I also regard this music as being one of America's great gifts to world culture. In my mind, Berklee represents the preeminent institution furthering this great art form and cultural tradition. As a trustee, my hope is to contribute to the continued growth and vitality of this great organization."
