BOSTON, March 16, 2000 Berklee's fourteenth annual International Folk Festival returns to the Berklee Performance Center on Thursday, March 30, when faculty and student ensembles of Spain, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Argentina, Scotland, Turkey, Puerto Rico, and Korea perform the traditional music and dance of their native lands.
The performance is followed by an international food tasting party in Berklee's International Dining Hall. All who attend the concert are invited. Show starts at 8:15 p.m.; tickets are $4.00, $1.00 for seniors. For ticket information, please call (617) 747-2261. The Berklee Performance Center is located at 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, and is wheelchair accessible.
Berklee College of Music continues in the tradition of honoring those people who have been particularly helpful to international students. This year, those honored will be Pamela and Larry Fishman, of Fishman Transducers, Inc. Pamela & Larry Fishman have been selected by the students, faculty, and administration for their helpfulness to Berklee students, for their support of international educational exchange, and for promoting international goodwill and understanding.
