"Les Enfants de Berklee"

WHAT: Berklee On Film - American premiere of documentary "Les Enfants de Berklee" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

"Les Enfants de Berklee" by Stefan Jonot (1998, 56 min., video), with the director present; American premiere. In 1996, Frenchman Stefan Jonot happened into Boston's Berklee College of Music, through a series of serendipitous events. The unique energy and drive he experienced there moved him to begin documenting it only weeks later. Centered around three very different French students -- a film composer, a pop singer, and a jazz pianist -- "Les Enfants" opens an unprecedented window on the passionate, demanding lives of students at the world's top contemporary music school. In English, with French subtitles.

The film will be followed by a live jazz performance of the Vincent Bourgeyx Trio: Vincent Bourgeyx on piano, Bob Moses on percussion, and John Lockwood on bass. Bourgeyx is one of the students featured in the film. A reception with the director follows the program.
