WHAT: Eddie Kramer, legendary recording engineer and producer, whose credits over the past 30 years have included the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Traffic, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Joe Cocker, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Carly Simon, Lena Horne, and the Woodstock Album, is coming to Berklee College. He'll be doing a major residency in Music Production and Engineering, chaired by Bill Scheniman, who engineered alongside him on several high-profile projects over the years. Kramer's residency will include a lecture as well as hands-on recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.
Kramer's long association with Jimi Hendrix included building the state-of-the-art Electric Lady Studio, where he served as Director of Engineering from 1970 to 1974. He engineered all of Hendrix's albums, including the posthumous releases "War Heroes," "Rainbow Bridge" and "Hendrix in the West." His more recent productions include Anthrax, Blind Melon, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Spin Doctors, and a remastering of "Band of Gypsys," the last album Jimi Hendrix made before his death, from the original two-track master tapes.
