Stars from Radiohead are boycotting Spotify, saying the site pays next to nothing and doesn’t support new artists. Tom Ashbrook, who leads a daily conversation on breaking news and cultural topics on NPR's On Point, examines the Spotify model that is being criticized by new young musicians who earn fractions of a penny per digital listen. Joining Ashbrook in this lively discussion is Don Gorder, chair of the music business/management department at Berklee College of Music. On Point is heard by an audience of more than 1.2 million people weekly.
