Accepted International Students

Receive your transcript evaluation.

If you have submitted transcripts for transcript evaluation, you will be notified of your transcript assessment in approximately two weeks.

Plan your housing.

If your tuition deposit is received prior to housing being filled, the Housing Office will send you an application for housing that you should complete and return without delay. You must submit your tuition deposit in order to be eligible to receive a housing application.

Berklee College of Music is a non-resident campus. While we do have limited housing available to our entering class, beds are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are looking for housing outside of the residence halls, visit the Student Activities Office's housing bulletin board at berklee.edu/housing/board.

Student Activities is your central location for information given out by the City of Boston regarding students living off campus. They can provide you with information about your rights are as a tenant and what many of the neighborhoods in and around Boston are like. For more information, contact the Student Activities Office at 617 747-2560.

Submit your completed immunization form.

All students must submit completed immunization records prior to arrival at the college. Download the form at berklee.edu/pdf/health/immunization.pdf. Required immunizations are rubella, mumps, measles (mumps, rubella, and measles are often given as one shot called an MMR, and if you have one of these, then you only need an additional measles shot), tetanus/diphtheria (given within the last 10 years), meningococcal vaccine (meningitis), and hepatitis B. If you have questions regarding the immunization requirements, contact your applicant advisor in the Office of Admissions.

We recommend that you get the shots required and send us your form as soon as possible. Make sure that you have all of the required shots—it takes only one missing or expired shot to cause delays during check-in.

Submit proof of high school/secondary school completion.

Submit either your official high/secondary school diploma or final transcript that includes a graduation date and an official signature and seal. Students who did not submit proof of secondary school completion as part of their application must submit a general report of their credential evaluation through a certified credential evaluation service. Transfer students should submit their most recent transcript to update their transfer credit records. Some documents may already have been submitted during the application process.

Prepare for your entrance exams.

As an entering student, you'll be required to take proficiency assessments in harmony, arranging, and ear training. These assessments tell us what you already know and ensure that you're put in classes with students at the same level as you. We have provided some practice examples on our website at berklee.edu/assessments.

Speak to your advisors.

Within a month of enrollment, all first-semester students will be contacted by both a faculty advisor and an upper-semester peer advisor. Advisors are here to help you transition into your first few days, weeks, and months at Berklee.

Pay your tuition bill.

Your final bill for tuition will be issued a month before your orientation. Bills must be paid in full prior to your arrival to the college. You will not be able to complete your placement auditions or pick up your class schedule until payment has been received.
