Tickets Go On Sale for McCoy Tyner in the BeanTown Jazz Festival


Tickets go on sale this Saturday for the first show of the 2006 BeanTown Jazz Festival, the McCoy Tyner Septet: The Story of Impulse! Records. The concert will be held on Friday, September 29, at 8:15 p.m. in the Berklee Performance Center. An opening act will be announced at a later date at

Grammy Award–winning pianist McCoy Tyner—a member of the legendary John Coltrane Quartet—will lead an all–star group in a live retrospective of some of the definitive works of the seminal Impulse! Records label, compositions that rank among the most important in jazz history. The group is expected to include trumpeter Nicholas Payton, saxophonist Donald Harrison, and trombonist Steve Turre, among others.
