Meshell Ndegeocello's November visit to Berklee makes so much sense that it's surprising it didn't happen sooner. Like Berklee itself, the eclectic bassist has excelled in a range of styles—soul, r&b, rock, reggae—and on the heels of her latest recording, a jazz set, Meshell will perform with students and even present a public master class. Learn more below about the show, which will feature her on bass, supporting several student vocalists singing songs from her albums.

Berklee's continuing response to Hurricane Katrina continues in November with a fundraising concert, Second Line Resurrection, on November 29. Read on for more on that, and news of a very unusual recording session that took place on campus.

November 3, 2005 Meshell Ndegeocello
Grammy-nominated bassist and composer Meshell Ndegeocello culminates three days of clinics and rehearsals with what promises to be an extraordinary night of music in the Berklee Performance Center (BPC). Ndegeocello and a student band will accompany eight student vocalists in a concert directed by faculty guitarist David Fiuczynski, who has recorded with Ndegeocello several times in the past decade. Talk about variety. This month at the BPC you'll have a chance to hear gospel, soul, Latin, rock, jazz, a capella, and music from Ireland and Japan. Highlights include Rockapella (Nov. 11), Steve Tyrell (Nov. 13), and Aaron Neville (Nov. 30), as well as three big shows mentioned above: A Tribute to Rubén Blades (Nov. 1), Meshell Ndegeocello (Nov. 3), and Second Line Resurrection (Nov. 29).
