Lettuce Brings the Funk to BPC, July 23
Funk band Lettuce celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Berklee Performance Center on July 23. Lettuce's members first met at Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program, and reunited as undergraduates here. Working with a palette of funk, jazz, and soul, the picture Lettuce paints with each song it performs is vibrant, joyous, and full of spirit.
Wilsen
Berklee alumna Wilsen (formerly known as Tamsin) brings a smokey sound reflecting influences from both sides of the Atlantic. Raised in the United Kingdom and Canada, the Brooklyn-based songwriter prepares to release her first album, which will feature her tune, "Dusk." Wilsen will perform as part of Berklee's Summer in the City series at Club Passim on July 12.
Student Group Plays Newport
The Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors, the premier group of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, will play the main stage of the Newport Jazz Festival.
Brazilian-Influenced Jazz at Swingin' in the Fens
The Marcella Camargo Quartet will perform as part of Berklee's Summer in the City concert series. A native of São Paolo, Brazil, Camargo will perform unique arrangements of blues and jazz standards.
