June 2006

Aretha Franklin at commencement

With words of encouragement from Aretha Franklin, Melissa Etheridge, engineer/producer Elliot Scheiner, and faculty saxophonist Andy McGhee, the class of 2006 walked into its musical future in mid-May. Below, you'll find a link to our website for comprehensive coverage of the annual celebration.

And plenty more has been going on around Berklee, such as the conclusion of a hip-hop songwriting contest, a stunning clinic and concert featuring great women guitar players, and the innovative exploits of a few enterprising alumni that you probably haven't heard of. You'll learn more about that in this newsletter, as well as get a sneak preview of what will be another very busy summer of concerts far and wide, featuring Berklee students, faculty, and alumni.
