Faculty member Mark Walker poses with President Obama after performing for him inauguration weekend.

February is always one of the busiest months at Berklee, as everyone returns from winter break refreshed and ready to rock. This month, Berklee welcomes Mint Condition and Geri Allen to campus as part of the Africana Studies series; faculty continue their collaboration with the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown; students perform at the ICA; and Heavy Rotation Records releases its new CD with a concert in the BPC. And that's not all! Check out our events calendar for the full scoop.

A lot's gone on since December, too. This year faculty members Oscar Stagnaro and Mark Walker return to school having played a private concert for President Obama, as well as a Kennedy Center performance on inauguration weekend. Berklee was visited by James Taylor; saw 30 alumni and faculty earn Grammy nominations; welcomed Paul Simon and Christopher Guest as trustees; made trips to the Macworld Expo and a Helsinki music festival; and published five new books. Phew! Read on for more, and to enter a drawing for a $50 iTunes gift certificate.
