Vocalist, songwriter, and activist Annie Lennox delivered a stirring speech during Berklee's commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11, giving 1,050 graduates insightful advice about carving out their music careers. “Consider this, wherever you think you’re heading right now might turn out to take a completely different path. What looks like an ending might actually be the start of a brand new beginning," Lennox said.

Lennox sold more than 75 million albums, with more than 20 international hits, as a member of the duo Eurythmics, with Dave Stewart. She has also had great success in a solo career, contributing to a career total of four Grammy Awards and 10 nominations. She is also an ambassador for UNAIDS, Oxfam, Amnesty International, and the British Red Cross. Learn more about commencement weekend in our news section.
