June 4 – Berklee President Roger H. Brown and Livingston Taylor joined Berklee staff and students at the family home of Charlie Bloom ’12 in Morristown, NJ to welcome members of the incoming class of 2017 and current students in the Five-Week program.

Attendees enjoyed light refreshments and a performance by Livingston Taylor while making new friends and sharing inside knowledge about life at Berklee.

One parent said the event was “wonderful” and seemed “more like a family reunion  than a college ‘meet and greet,’” while another felt it soothed her anxiety about sending her daughter off to college, saying, “Victoria is very excited; and being a single parent, I am much more relaxed about my daughter moving to Boston to pursue her education dreams.”

Director of Campaign and Development Initiatives Ginny Fordham organized the event, and has others planned to help parents and students make a smooth transition to Berklee.
