PODCAST: Arc Iris

Arc Iris brings a classically orchestral approach to indie folk.

Jocie Adams was a technician at NASA before joining indie-rock superstars the Low Anthem, and it may be some of that rocket-science smarts that led her to recruit pianist Zach Tenorio ’10 for her new band, Arc Iris.

Tenorio was obsessed with the Beatles as a child, bringing his records to bed along with his stuffed animals. As a teenager, he befriended Jon Anderson, lead singer of Yes, while performing with the School of Rock All-Stars, and recently performed on Anderson’s latest record.

Two years ago Tenorio met Adams and they quit their respective bands to record songs she’d been working on, and Arc Iris was born. Tenorio also plays with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and AC Newman of the New Pornographers, and is collaborating on a ballet with Adams.
