Since Berklee opened its campus in Valencia, Spain in 2011, a vibrant, new music scene has emerged from the artistic endeavors of arriving students and the city's musicians. The New York Times chronicles this new infusion of music into a city already steeped in musical tradition. Thanks to Berklee, which offers four graduate programs on the campus, "Valencia is turning into a university town, with the emphasis on music, and it may be one of the few Spanish cities that is now more vital than it was five years ago."
