TCM Young Film Composers Competition

For the second consecutive year, a graduate of Berklee's Film Scoring Department is grand prize winner of the annual Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Young Film Composers Competition (see the full story, Finding Sound for the Silents). H. Scott Salinas '01 was selected from more than 450 contestants by a panel of film industry experts. This 4-minute video documents Scott's experience, and also provides insights into the process of film scoring.

BBC Jazzmatazz
March 2000

The World Service of the BBC visited Boston in March 2000 to profile the Boston jazz scene for the BBC radio program Jazzmatazz. While in town, the BBC visited Berklee and met with several students, Executive Vice President Gary Burton, Associate Vice President of International Progams Larry Monroe, and others. The BBC representatives heard some of the college's top student ensembles, and finished their visit with a stop at a recording session for the top student group, the Berklee-Monterey Quartet.
