Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer Danilo Pérez '88 creates a dynamic brand of Pan-American jazz. And as artistic director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Pérez is a leader in shaping the next generation of musicians. Whether leading his own ensembles or touring with renowned jazz masters (Wayne Shorter, Roy Haynes, Steve Lacy), Pérez is making a decidedly fresh imprint on contemporary music.

Pérez will perform with fellow faculty members, visiting artists, and students in a concert, Global Jazz Summit, at the Berklee Performance Center on March 26, 2012.

This episode of Sounds of Berklee features "Galactic Panama," a track from Danilo Pérez's 2010 release, Providencia.
