Alums Score Big at Boston Music Awards

Susan Tedeschi shares a laugh with Berklee faculty member Dennis Montgomery III during a recent visit to Berklee.

Susan Tedeschi's streak of music industry success continued last week when the Grammy-nominated blues singer and guitarist walked away with three Kahlua Boston Music Awards. The 1991 alumna, who also performed during the awards show, earned BMAs for Single of the year (Indie label), "Rock Me Right"; Female Vocalist; and Blues Act. Other winners included Melissa Ferrick '90, in the Female singer/songwriter category and Adrianne (Gonzalez '99), in the New singer/songwriter category. Berklee alums are members of the rock bands Powerman 5000 and the Pills, which won in the Rising Star and Debut Album of the Year (Indie label) categories, respectively.
