Studio Production Projects (2002)
Berklee Studio Production Projects (2002) (SPP 2002) is another fine example of the wide-ranging eclecticism of the Berklee student mind. From Chris Hobson's mini rock opera "Clockwork World" to Marta Gomez's latin pop tune "Juan Cumbia," SPP 2002 provides more evidence that Berklee students are as well-trained as they are willing to take chances with their music.
Many of the students you hear on this disc are already performing with their own bands around Boston and elsewhere and recording full-length CDs. Waking Vision Trio (track 11) has performed its Miles-meets-Metheny jazz in clubs around the East Coast and the Beatlesque pop of Apollo Sunshine (track 3) has been attracting crowds in New York and Boston. And Andrea Capozzolli, who was a student when she recorded the r&b tune "Something About You Baby," has already joined the Berklee Voice Department as an instructor.
Everything you hear on SPP 2002 was recorded and mixed by students using Berklee's Music Production and Engineering facilities and tracks for the CD were selected by a college-wide committee. We hope you enjoy it.
