Berklee Studio Production Projects (2001)
Since the 1980s, Berklee has collected some of its best student recordings on the annual Studio Production Projects disc. Students record these selections initially to meet the requirements of classes in the Departments of Music Production and Engineering and Music Synthesis. As a result, they reflect the highest-quality student work in terms of production, engineering, composing, arranging, and performance. Student musicians recorded and mixed each cut in Berklee's recording studios and synthesis labs. Teachers nominated the class projects and submitted them to a college-wide committee, which made the final selections. The eclectic Berklee Studio Production Projects (2001) represents a few of the musical styles found at the college, from hip-hop and hard rock to electronica and world music. One of the songs on the CD, "Yang Terbuang," made it on to the Top Ten airplay list for May 2001 at radio station Hard Rock FM in Jakarta, Indonesia. We hope you enjoy that cut and the rest of these new tunes by Berklee's best.
