Berklee's student-run label Heavy Rotation Records released Dorm Sessions Volume 5 at a CD release concert in 2008, featuring several talented and innovative groups—all of which are led by either Berklee students or alumni. The collection provides evidence of HRR's continuing ability to provide listeners with discs exhibiting cutting-edge creativity and cohesive diversity.
Heavy Rotation Records is dedicated to discovering, recording, and promoting a selection of Berklee's unique and aspiring artists. Its very existence and excellent output is due in part to the progressive vision of Berklee leaders and the continuous support and recognition of the music community. The newest compilation features Berklee bands making names for themselves around town and beyond, including Altered Tensions's fizzy electronica, the Peasantry's sharp rock, and the winsome folk/Western of Annie Lynch and the Beekeepers.
