Yoga, Meditation and Kirtan
Free yoga and meditation classes are offered each week. The popularity of these classes is due to the benefits that students are receiving. We also offer Kirtan once a month.
Yoga Fall Schedule
Benefits of regularly practicing yoga may include:
- Releasing stress and tension
- Finding peace and tranquility
- Increasing strength and flexibility
- Gaining mental endurance and physical stamina
- Seeing more clarity and focus
These benefits are experienced in the yoga class as well as throughout one's day.
LiveWell / ASPIRE offers a variety of styles of yoga. Our classes in yoga serve students of all levels and abilities.
Meditation Fall Schedule
On-campus meditation classes and sessions instruct students in a variety of styles of meditation. Many artists incorporate a form of meditation, finding increased creativity and productivity in their music. Other health benefits may include improved sleep habits, lower blood pressure, and a strengthened immune system. Through meditation, a stronger sense of purpose and compassion may evolve.
Kirtan Fall Schedule
Kirtan is the singing of sacred mantras, accompanied by classical Indian instruments. It is a call-and-response style of singing which involves the audience in the performance and it is an ancient and well known art to calm the mind and open the heart. Berklee Kirtan events feature faculty members Richard Davis on vocals and harmonium and Jerry Leake on tabla.

Saturdays, November 9 and 16
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. in the Loft
"Kundalini yoga consists of active and passive asana-based kriyas, pranayama, and meditations which target the whole body system (nervous system, glands, mental faculties, chakras) to develop awareness, consciousness and spiritual strength." —Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini yoga can be understood as a tri-fold approach of:
- Bhakti yoga for devotion;
- Shakti yoga for power; and
- Raja yoga for mental power and control.
Berklee alumnus and international producer/engineer Alfredo Villela will introduce this daily practice of kriyas and meditation in sadhana. Kundalini yoga is described as a practical technology of human consciousness for humans to achieve their total creative potential.
