Jazz! Free improv! Experimental! Electroacoustic contemporary classical! Things will be done to the baritone saxophone that breach the boundaries of good taste and propriety. Singh will premiere a work by Derek Hurst in his senior recital. Sights, sounds, and smells to delight young and old alike.
The Berklee Clarinet Choir, composed of seven players performing on piccolo, soprano, alto, bass, and contra-alto clarinets, will perform a wide range of music styles, which span a 300-year period. Most notably are world premieres by both student and faculty composers.
The Berklee Flute Choir, the Spring Winds and Piano Ensemble, and outstanding flute soloists will herald the arrival of spring with a lively and lyrical selection of music from Baroque to Latin and Romantic.
Flautist Kazuyo Kuriya has a background in Western classical music, and has worked as a professional flautist in Japan. She received a scholarship to study at Berklee and has performed with Brazilian pianist, Cesar Camargo Mariano, who has praised her work in performance nd composition. At this show, she is going to perform her original compositions and other jazz and Brazilian styles of music. She will also be performing with a variety of ensemble groups.
