A lively and lyrical concert featuring the Berklee Flute Choir and the Autumn Winds and Piano Ensemble, directed by Woodwind Department faculty member Wendy Rolfe. Original Berklee compositions and arrangements, as well as classics in styles from Latin to baroque, to romantic to world music, will delight listeners.
Faculty member Bertram Lehmann unites with musical friends for an evening of contemporary Brazilian music and jazz. Inspired by the particular elegiac lyricism of artists hailing from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, the concert will include music by Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, and other Brazilian and American composers whose musical language is similarly harmonically lush and deeply melodic. Various configurations ranging from a trio to larger, woodwind-based ensembles will be featured. The performance will include special guest vocalist Annette Philip and piccolo-bassist Ebinho Cardoso.
