Musician, songwriter, and social activist Harry Belafonte was a powerful voice in the civil rights and anti-apartheid movements. Directed by professor Larry Watson, Berklee students and faculty will celebrate Belafonte's life and music from "Banana Boat Song" to "We Are the World." Berklee president Roger H. Brown will award an honorary doctorate of music to Belafonte at this event in recognition of Belafonte's inspiring music and humanitarian achievements.

Vocalist Ashlyn Willson and her band will perform covers of songs by artists such as Snarky Puppy and Corinne Bailey Rae as well as original songs featuring dynamic changes in style, tempo, and rhythm.
Vocalist Stephen Raman will present a recital of original arrangements of the music of Frank Sinatra, Arthur Prysock, Michael Jackson, Sting, and more. The arrangements will mix old-school '70s sounds with R&B grooves, with a slight Indian inflection.
