In town to drum for Joshua Redman at his Berklee Performance Center show, Gregory Hutchinson will conduct a drum clinic for Berklee students. For “Hutch,” the goal is to play the drums like Charlie Parker plays the horns.
One of the most respected musicians of our time, Hutchinson has worked with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, John Scofield, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Maria Schneider as well as many others. His time signatures and beat compositions have won him praise from the hip-hop community as well, leading him to work with Common and Questlove of the Roots, among others.
Drummer Ralph Humphrey, who has performed with Frank Zappa, Wayne Shorter, and many more, presents a drum clinic. Humphrey maintains a very active career in the recording industry, playing for a variety of motion picture, TV and record projects. His credits include drumming for Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, The Emmys, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and the Academy Awards.
