New York’s WBGO Jazz 88.3 FM and NPR Music proudly present year three of “The Checkout: Live at Berklee”—a concert series in which critically acclaimed, New York-based performers return to their Berklee roots and perform for the world from Boston’s Cafe 939. Tonight’s concert features Warren Wolf (vibes/ marimba), Tim Green (saxophone), Alex Brown (piano), Kris Funn (bass), and Billy Williams Jr., (drums). Playing vibraphone, drums, and piano, Warren Wolf ’01 is both a graduate of Berklee and a former teacher at Berklee. As a student, Wolf studied with jazz vibraphonists Dave Samuels and Ed Saindon. As a teacher, Wolf taught vibraphone and drums before moving on to tour the U.S. with the Rachael Price Group and he has also played in several other respected bands, including the Donal Fox Group. Wolf recently released his debut album for Mack Avenue Records. He has performed with many great musicians, including Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Jeremy Pelt ‘98, Cyrus Chestnut, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding, and many others.
