Universidad San Francisco Quito (USFQ) College of Music - Quito, Ecuador

The College of Music (CoM) at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito features the best music faculty in Ecuador. For 14 years, the CoM has been responsible for preparing, improving, supporting, and creating musicians in Ecuador. As a member of the prestigious Berklee International Network (BIN), CoM has become a leading South American school in the teaching of contemporary music and sound production.

CoM currently offers bachelor degrees in two specialties: contemporary music and music and sound production. CoM students have more than 30 ensemble options, with genres including pop, funk, bebop, heavy metal, Latin jazz, contemporary, Brazilian, modal jazz, rock, electronic music, jazz fusion, and blues, among others.

Every semester, CoM hosts workshops featuring expert international participants with an array of specialties in music as well as production. In past years, we have hosted Sebastian Krys, Mike Moreno, Jonathan Kreisberg, Antonio Sánchez, Scott Henderson, and Susan Rogers.

As a part of the Berklee International Network, CoM students have the opportunity to study at Berklee College of Music. CoM, which receives students from various Latin American music schools, also maintains a student exchange agreement with the Liceu de Barcelona in Spain.

Together with Berklee, CoM has provided more than 40 scholarships so that students can finish their studies in Boston. Every year, we grant one of our alumni a full scholarship to complete their master’s degree at Berklee’s Valencia, Spain campus, where some of our students have pursued postgraduate studies.

CoM offers students the best equipment, studios, labs, and software in the country, and it is growing rapidly, preparing to open a recording studio with its own live room, new spaces for rehearsal and ensembles, and a new building to enhance the quality of the experience provided to students.
