Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Degree Program in Pop and Jazz Music

Metropolia University's Pop and Jazz Music Degree Program has a long tradition as Finland's only music institute that offers bachelor's degrees in popular music and jazz. Situated in the dynamic campus area of Arabia, Helsinki, the university is staffed by the most esteemed performers and teachers in Finland, and boasts excellent facilities, such as the Arabia Concert Hall and state-of-the-art sound studios.

The Metropolia Pop and Jazz Music Degree Program graduates are competent and versatile music professionals. Students can specialize in a variety of contemporary styles, such as pop, jazz, R&B, and rock; and receive professional qualifications as music educators, producers, music technologists, and composer/arrangers.

Since 2008, the Metropolia has offered graduate-level studies culminating in a master's degree in music. The degree provides students with the necessary skills and qualifications to successfully pursue opportunities in demanding classical or pop/jazz environments, or for development posts as educators, artists, or specialists. Depending on their work experience and interests, students may focus on artistic or educational work, or a combination of these.
