Long before they set foot on campus, most Berklee students have had the benefit of intensive preparation.

They might have taken private piano lessons, sung in the church choir, or played trumpet in the high school jazz band — there are as many types of music backgrounds as there are students.

However they found their way to Berklee, almost all of Berklee's young musicians had parents who helped them get there and who continue to encourage them throughout their college careers.

And some of these parents, realizing the difference a Berklee education is making in their own son's or daughter's life, support the college in ways that allow it to provide even more opportunities for future students.
