Please bring your friends and join us for Berklee's Fifteenth Annual Encore Gala to benefit Berklee City Music on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. We are excited to co-chair the Encore Gala because it supports Berklee City Music, a life-changing experience for thousands of talented inner-city middle and high school students who participate through scholarship assistance at no cost to them or their families.

Last year, guests dined and danced to the sounds of more than 150 faculty, alumni, and student musicians performing Latin jazz, rock, reggae, big band, world, r&b, bluegrass, hip-hop, and world music in eight different nightclub settings. Special guest performers included Grammy Award-winning vocalist Paula Cole and Tony Award-nominee Elisabeth Withers.

We expect an equally sensational evening of music again this year including a special guest or two to end the evening in style. Prior to the musical festivities, you will have an opportunity to visit with friends during the cocktail reception and dinner. You can also participate in both the live and silent auctions featuring unique only-through-Berklee celebrity experiences, vacation packages and more.

Tables of ten for the Encore Gala are $12,000 (President's Circle), $8,000 (Premier Circle) or $6,000 (Gold Circle). Various opportunities for highly visible sponsorships begin at $8,500. Both the 2007 and 2008 Encore Galas sold out completely and we expect this year will be the same so book early.

Berklee City Music provides high-quality music instruction and mentoring to underserved students primarily from Boston as well as those enrolled at City Music Network sites across the country with an experience that incorporates the excitement and challenges of college during their middle and high school years. This rapidly growing program was nationally recognized as a recipient of the prestigious 2008 Coming Up Taller Award, an initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities recognizing outstanding community arts and humanities programs.

While you are enjoying incredible music with your friends you can take pride in knowing that you are helping young people fulfill their musical and educational dreams and aspirations. Please contact Beverly Tryon, at 617-747-2660 or btryon@berklee.edu to find out more details about this wonderful event. Thank you for your consideration and support.
