Credit Card Payments

Effective April 1, 2007, students paying for their Berklee tuition and fees by credit card will see a change. In order to reduce costs at Berklee and to continue to offer credit card payments as an option, Berklee has contracted with Official Payments Corp. (OPC) to process MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit card payments online, or by calling (866) 661-9951. Visa cards will not be accepted. OPC will charge a convenience fee of 2.5% of the payment amount for this service. Online payments can be made at: my.berklee.net.

You can still pay Berklee tuition and fees with no additional fee by using the following methods:

  • Online by E-Check

  • By mailing check or money order to:
    Berklee College of Music
    P.O. Box 3618
    Boston, MA 02241-3618

  • In person by check, cash or money order at:
    Bursar's Office
    921 Uchida Bldg.
    Suite 240
    Boston, MA 02215-3693

Cash

We strongly discourage you from carrying large amounts of cash to pay your bill. However, should you decide to make a cash payment, please be certain to retain your receipt.

Traveler's Checks

If you plan on paying in person, Traveler's Checks are the safest way to do so. Be sure not to countersign your Traveler's Check(s) until you make your payment at the Bursar's Office.

Personal Checks

Make checks payable to "Berklee College of Music" for the amount due. Checks should include your name and Berklee student ID number to ensure proper posting to your account.

Be advised that if your personal check is returned for insufficient funds, you will be charged a $50 processing fee. The college will not redeposit personal checks which have been returned, and you will be required to make payment via a cashier's check, money order or cash within five business days. Should this occur, you will no longer be able to use personal checks as a form of payment.

Money Orders

Money orders should be drawn against a United States bank or an international bank with a U.S. affiliate. Make your money order payable to "Berklee College of Music."

Wire Transfer within the United States

This is one of the fastest ways to make a payment. If the transfer is between two U.S. banks, the process usually takes one business day. The following information will be required by your bank in order to processes the transfer and will help to ensure that your payment is posted to the proper account:

Beneficiary Name:   Berklee College of Music
Beneficiary Account #: 00533-37159
ABA#: 0260-0959-3
  Bank of America
100 Federal Street
Boston, Massachusetts 02110
Student Name
Berklee Student ID#

International Wire Transfer

*PLEASE NOTE: Some banks charge a fee for sending and/or receiving a wire. Please check with your bank to see if you will be charged a fee. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IN ADDITION TO ANY FEES YOUR BANK MAY CHARGE, THE INTERMEDIARY BANK RECEVING THE FUNDS IN THE U.S. MAY ALSO DEDUCT A FEE FROM YOUR WIRE. Please confirm the amount received by Berklee College of Music to know if any fees have been deducted.

International wires may be accomplished through a few different methods, but Berklee prefers that you use either SWIFT or Tested Telex when wiring us funds from outside the United States. All funds must be in U.S. dollars. Your bank requires the following information, to process the transfer and to help ensure your payment is posted to the proper account:

Beneficiary Name:   Berklee College of Music

International Check or Money Orders

We do accept international checks and money orders drawn on international banks, providing they are made out to "Berklee College of Music" and the amount is written in U.S. currency. You should be aware that you may incur additional charges from both the originating bank and the U.S. bank for either of these payment methods. We highly recommend avoiding these charges by bringing U.S. Traveler's Checks with you to pay your bill and establish a U.S. bank account.

Tuition Payment Plan

Berklee offers a monthly payment plan through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). This option allows you to divide your payment into monthly installments. There are no qualifications to use this service. You do not incur interest while paying off your fees, and there is no credit approval necessary. Berklee will give you advance credit for the total amount to be paid, provided you remain current with your monthly payments.

You should be aware that there is a one-time-only enrollment fee and that the payment plan begins in June. If you sign up for this option after June, you are responsible for making up the total of payments since June in your first installment.

Since this option may be combined with other forms of payment you should be certain to budget the necessary amount with TMS to meet your needs. If you have under-budgeted, you will be expected to pay the difference directly to the college prior to the beginning of classes.

Berklee reserves the right to revoke this payment option to any student if delinquency becomes an issue.

Parent Loans

We will be happy to apply advance credit to your account for loan amounts verified by the lending agency in writing to the Bursar's Office. Keep in mind that several popular college loans will have origination fees deducted from the proceeds, reducing the amount of funds credited to your account.

Third Party Scholarships

We will be happy to apply advance credit to your account for a scholarship awarded from an outside agency. You must submit a letter to the Bursar's Office from the scholarship source, on their letterhead, stating that the scholarship will be mailed directly to Berklee. The letter must also include the amount of your scholarship, the date when payment will be submitted, a request for a statement (if required by the sponsor), and the name and phone number of a contact person. It is essential for the Bursar's Office to receive this letter prior to your payment due date in order to avoid any delays.
