Jake Sherman Trio

Jake Sherman began taking piano lessons at age 5 and fell in love with ragtime, learning many Scott Joplin classics and composing rags. At age 12 he started studying jazz piano and was soon playing in ensembles, and at 14 he discovered the Hammond organ.

Fronted by soft-spoken and charismatic Mozambican songwriter Helder Tsinine, the six-piece powerhouse commands the dance floor with earthy, electric African rhythms that echo from Helder’s hometown of Maputo.
