Berklee Events

Come and join us for a musical journey through song. we'll give you a new twist on some old standards as well as presenting some brand-new compositions. This show will feature some of the most up-and-coming Berklee students, alumni, staff, and faculty, all coming together to create a beautiful musical portrait. Instrumental as well as a cappella—a little something for everyone.

Frequent travels to Brazil and the Spanish Caribbean keep Latin jazz pianist Rebecca Cline in touch with the root of her inspiration: groove. Cline displays a mastery of harmonic devices, and her improvisations radiate the rhythmic power of world music and the lyrical grace of jazz. Joining her is Will Slater on acoustic bass and Karina Colison on drums.

Guitar faculty members Thaddeus Hogarth presents an evening of r&b funk with student-led bands. Featuring some of the hottest r&b funk guitarists on the campus.

The 2010 Music Education Symposium at Berklee College of Music—Across the Borders, Across the Sea—will offer a forum to discuss current practices in education. Cohosted by Grammy-nominated recording artist, conductor, composer, and Berklee ambassador for artistry in education Patrice Rushen and Music Education Department chair Cecil Adderley, the all-day event will feature clinics and performances. Janis Ian, will be the featured speaker and artist at Berklee's 16th annual Liberal Arts Symposium. Ian will also complete a week-long residency on the Berklee campus from April 5-9. [details]
