Jason Carrasco, Laura O’Connell, and Joe Schlesinger from Gupta Media answer your questions about musicians' online presence.
Jason Carrasco is the director of digital media at Gupta Media. Graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in advertising, Carrasco was the first employee hired by the company in 2005. He currently manages a 12-person media team, working with record labels to drive digital sales for new album releases. An expert in the digital marketing field, Carrasco has spoken at various colleges and universities and events like the CMJ music conference.
Laura O’Connell is the creative director at Gupta Media. She started at Gupta Media in 2007 as a business analyst, but over the next year her focus shifted to launching Gupta Media’s design team. Today, she manages a team of six designers, creating banners, pre-roll video ads, and social media skins for nearly all of Gupta Media’s campaigns. O'Connell made Billboard’s prestigious list of “30 Under 30” music industry power players for her innovative work on Bonnaroo’s website and more. O'Connell graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in finance and advertising in 2006.
Joe Schlesinger is an account supervisor at Gupta Media. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day relationships with many of Gupta Media’s clients, including Sony Music, Beggars & Matador Group, and ATO Records. In 2011, Schlesinger spent four months in London, working out of Sony’s U.K. office, strengthening the relationship between Gupta Media and Sony’s European teams. He graduated from Syracuse University in 2008 with a degree in public relations and began working at Gupta Media a few weeks after graduation.
