Violinist Yuki Nakajima presents a senior recital with her band, performing jazz standards and gypsy jazz tunes.

After three wonderful years at Berklee and truly building on his musicianship, vocalist and pianist Levin Valayil will provide his audience a show they will never forget.

Each semester, faculty and students of the Music Education Department perform to demonstrate the unique and exciting music-making that goes on in the department.

Four to six piano students are selected to perform in this stylistically diverse concert. Performances will range from solo piano to piano trio to large group.

Bassist Pete Iannitto and his band perform an eclectic mix of alternative rock and folk original music, as well as covers from some of today's leading indie rock groups.

Flutist Sarpay Ozcagatay, the 2011 Billboard Magazine Scholarship Award Recipient, will present his original music with some great musicians at his senior recital.

Pianist Mieun Noh presents her senior recital at Berklee, with Latin tunes and some originals and arrangements. Instrumentation is trio with vocals and some percussion, with some special guest faculty.

A showcase of the 12 winning songs of the 2011–2012 Songs for Social Change Contest.

The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra will be premiere John Patitucci’s Fantasy on a River Theme for six-string electric bass and orchestra, with the composer as soloist. The program will also feature the BCSO Student Composition Competition score, 8 De Febrero by Vicente Ortiz Gimeno, as well as Berklee composition faculty Jonathan Holland’s Halcyon Sun. In honor of John Williams's 80th birthday, selections from Schindler’s List and Star Wars will round out the program. [details]

Alan Munde needs no introduction to longtime bluegrass fans. From his early creative work with Sam Bush in Poor Richard's Almanac to his traditional bluegrass apprenticeship with Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys, to his 21-year stint anchoring the landmark Country Gazette, Munde has blazed a trail as one of the most innovative and influential banjo players of all time. Along the way, Munde also recorded and contributed to numerous instrumental recordings, including the 2001 IBMA Instrumental Album of the Year, Knee Deep in Bluegrass. [details]

Coupled with clever, ironic lyrics, the Magnetic Fields' music borrows from many other styles, notably country, folk, and indie pop. Also performing will be guest artist DeVotchKa.

The Professional Writing Division Awards Concert features award-winning student compositions from each of the PWD's six departments as well as the Millican Award—a student composition paying homage to George Gershwin. The compositions range from full-orchestra film music to jazz ensemble and singer-songwriter. The writing and performance is at the highest level and is very engaging. [details]

Envisioning 21st-Century Music Business Models is an annual event featuring music industry executives.

Trumpeter Ingrid Jensen is a regular voice in the Grammy Award–winning Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra and the Grammy-nominated Darcy James Argue Secret Society big band and recently performed on the newly Grammy-nominated album Mosaic Project, led by Terri Lyne Carrington. Jensen's trumpet has taken her all over the world as both a leader and sideperson, as well as an educator and guest artist at prestigious colleges and universities. Jensen hails from Canada's west coast and has settled in New York with her family. She brings to Cafe 939 and WBGO her longstanding trio from her highly regarded ArtisShare release, At Sea. The 18th annual Liberal Arts Symposium features former United States poet laureate Robert Pinsky.

Jess Wilkes will present a collection of pieces—ranging from contemporary classical to jazz, soul, and blues—on flute, voice, and EWI with her quartet and other wonderful instrumentalists.

This concert will feature students in Simon Shaheen's newly formed ensemble. They will play selections from the recently recorded music of Simon Shaheen. The music organically blends the cultures of jazz, Latin, and Arabic maqam with a hint of Western classical, as well.

Blues rock played by William Ingram on guitar, vocals, and bass, with a special guest drummer.

Peruvian drummer Ken Ychicawa presents his senior recital featuring original compositions and arrangements.

A tribute to Rancid and NOFX, with two guitars, bass, drums, and a special guest trumpet.

A class recital of jazz and Latin vocal performance. Voice students and a rhythm section join to offer a program of their arrangements of songs from Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, and other regions. Interpretations reflect the aesthetic of jazz and lyricism of Latin music. Directed by Mili Bermejo.

Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music performed by five to six musicians (saxophone, piano, bass, drum set, and percussion). Band members rearrange famous Latin pieces.

Violin player Maria Kowalski is thrilled to lead her final recital at Berklee, featuring many of her close friends.

This will be a jazz quartet concert consisting of mainly original tunes composed by Ian Grey Brudnicki and Nate Jakes. Instrumentation is guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Special guest: Gregory Marchand on trumpet.
