Mohit Chauhan is an Indian pop and playback singer most known for his romantic ballads. He is a four-time recipient of the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer and two-time recipient of the Zee Cine Awards, Star Screen Awards and IIFA.
Chauhan previously sang Indian pop songs with the band Silk Route, and his Bollywood career began when he contributed a song by A. R. Rahman to the 2006 film Rang De Basanti.
His songs—"Khoon Chala," from Rang De Basanti; "Tum Se Hi," from the film Jab We Met, composed by Pritam; and "Masakali" from the film Delhi-6, composed by Rahman—were extremely successful. All his songs from the 2011 film Rockstar have become anthems, earning him numerous awards. He was also awarded for "Ye Dooriyan," from Love Aaj Kal and "Pee Loon," from Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. Apart from this, Mohit sang in many other Bollywood movies, including Road, EMI, Welcome to Sajjanpur, Kismat Konnection, Fashion, Anjaana Anjaani, Tanu Weds Manu, Love Aaj Kal, Kaminey, New York, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Barfi, Kkrish 3, Dhoom 3 and Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani.
