Robert Godin, owner and founder of the Godin Guitar Company, built his first guitars in a small shop in Montreal over 40 years ago. The success of the shop in Montreal eventually afforded him the opportunity to open a dedicated guitar building facility in the village of La Patrie, Quebec.

Motivated by a desire to bring a reasonably priced acoustic guitar to the market that emphasized great sound and feel rather than just shiny looks, Godin designed the Seagull S6. The popularity of the S6 has grown steadily since that time and Seagull has become one of the premier acoustic guitar brands in the world. Godin had also become well known for his custom-made electric guitars as well as the necks and bodies that he was making in La Patrie under sub-contract for many of America’s premier guitar companies.

In the late 1980s, full of ideas for new guitar designs, Godin began crafting instruments under his own name. Godin guitars have developed a reputation for quality of materials and craftsmanship. Godin's commitment to exploring new concepts in guitar design and technology is perhaps even more compelling.

Join Godin for an enlightening and informative Master Class about how guitars are crafted to achieve great acoustic sound and playability. You will learn the importance and impact of using different woods to achieve different sounds and tones, along with the reasoning behind different scales, neck and headstock designs —practical information you can use to evaluate your guitar and future guitar selections. Godin will also showcase some of the innovative and non-traditional guitars in the Godin guitar lineup.

Godin's knowledge and passion for the craft are infectious.  You will never look at guitars the same way again.
