Guitarist Jim Kelly

The sixth series of Jazz at the Arsenal, featuring Berklee faculty artists, continues on St. Patrick's Day with the Jim Kelly Quartet in an evening of original tunes drawing on jazz, blues, Latin, and folk traditions. Led by Jim Kelly on guitar, the band members are Jim Odgren on alto sax, Fernando Huergo on electric bass, and Casey Scheuerell on drums.

A versatile musician and teacher, Kelly has performed with Gary Burton, Jim Odgren, Duke Robillard, and others. Performance highlights include a long string in the orchestra for the original Boston run of the musical Rent, a recording on Duke Robillard's Swing album, and a recording with the Berklee All-Stars. His own compositions are featured on The Sled Dogs: The Music of Jim Kelly and his solo acoustic guitar CD Would Be Soundtracks. A master teacher, Kelly is the author of the book/CD/DVD Guitar Workshop with Jim Kelly.
