Six-time Grammy nominee Mike Stern has established himself as one of the premier jazz guitarists and composers of his generation. He will be playing a variety of jazz and rock tunes as part of Berklee's annual Summer Guitar Sessions Week. Born in Boston, Mike Stern studied music at Berklee College of Music before getting his start as a guitar player with Blood, Sweat & Tears. He then moved to New York City, where he was recruited by Miles Davis to play a key role in Davis’s comeback band.

He has earned the title of Best Jazz Guitarist of the Year by Guitar Player Magazine. He has also earned a spot on DownBeat's list of 75 Great Guitarists. He has played with Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Esperanza Spalding, and many, many more great musicians. The concert will feature Teymur Phell on bass and Richie Morales on drums.
