Foy Vance

Established in Boston in 2004, the Fenway Recordings Sessions is a regular concert series featuring a mix of established acts and the best new and developing indie artists currently playing in the city's clubs, along with occasional special guest DJs.

Born in Ireland, Foy Vance relocated to the American Midwest as a child. Returning to Ireland some years later, Vance began writing his own music, deeply shaped by the sounds of his youth. Since those days, he has spent a considerable amount of time on the road, touring with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Michael Kiwanuka, Marcus Foster, Snow Patrol, and Ed Sheeran. Foy also scored the Oscar-winning short-film The Shore with David Holmes, who collaborated with Vance on his 2012 EP, Melrose. Foy’s newest album, Joy of Nothing, will be released this year.

With his latest album—the first effort for his new label, Glassnote (home of Mumford & Sons, Phoenix and more)—Foy Vance has crafted a masterwork of the sweet hurt of love and what it does to the men and women involved with all of the fallout. DJ Carbo will open the show. Carbo, a.k.a. Mark Kates, was formerly a resident at one of L.A's. electronica clubs, Atmosphere at the Viper Room, and appeared on the legendary pirate radio station KBLT. He now hosts the Fenway Recordings Sessions in Boston.
