Don Lappin / Scott Tarulli

Tuesday / July 22, 2014 / 8:15 p.m.
Berklee Performance Center

Don Lappin is renowned for his one-of-a-kind voice on the guitar, created in part by his unorthodox two-handed tapping technique. Along with Lappin's keen sense of melody, the approach allows him to craft fretboard-spanning lines with a distinct fluidity that reminds the listener of a violin's tone rather than a traditional rock guitar growl.

Lappin has shared the stage with the likes of Michael Sweet (lead singer for the multiplatinum group Stryper), Jon Finn, Steve Hunt, Joe Stump, Joe Santerre, John Petrucci, drummer Jonathan Mover, and Guthrie Govan.

Scott Tarulli will be playing instrumental music from his latest album, Anytime, Anywhere, with very special guest Jerry Marotta.

Aside from spending time as a busy sideman (performing and recording with countless Boston-area artists), touring artist, and teacher at Berklee College of Music, Tarulli has performed and recorded with players like Jerry Marotta, Tony Levin, Steve Gadd, Abe Laboriel, the Temptations, Peter Eldridge, and Guthrie Govan, to name a few.
